Meet the Artist
Growing up as a descendant of Covington’s own Frank Duveneck, you could say that art is in my blood. He’s rather famous you know, and hearing the tales my grandmother told about seeing him in the saloons of Covington and later reading about all followers who came after, made an impression on me as a young girl. My love of art came from the many years studying under an outstanding art history teacher, Ms.Weaver at Beechwood School in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. I learned to love history, geography and nature through art.
My artwork and photography are expressions of my love for nature, flowers, people, special places, light and clouds. I am a contemporary artist, working with watercolors, pen and ink and acrylics on canvas. I generally paint from my own photographs and sketches and I love the works of Georgia O’Keeffe, Frida Kahlo, Vincent VanGogh, Mary Cassatt, Andrew Wyeth, Marc Chagall, Paul Gauguin, Charley Harper, and of course Frank Duveneck.
Every last Friday of the month, you can visit me at the historic Pendleton Art Center from 6-10 p.m. at 1310 Pendleton Street, Cincinnati Ohio. Join us for wine, cheese and art in studio 702.
